Topic: Psychosocial Development
Join us for a virtual event to connect with other families. This adult-only event is a chance to give advice to newer parents entering the cleft journey or a chance to hear the wisdom and experience of more seasoned cleft parents.
Come with questions or advice or just come to give or receive. The topic for this event is psychosocial development.
Individuals with cleft lip and/or palate have unique psycho/social needs at every age that parents seek to address and support. Everything from social interactions with peers, feelings about treatment and care, anxiety, fear, and other strong emotions.

Coffee Talk: Speech Therapy
We’re bringing back our coffee talks with cleft experts! This month, we’ll discuss Speech Therapy with Theresa Snelling, M.A., CCC-SLP, and Jocelyn Parson, M.A., CCC-SLP.
Join us for coffee, snacks, and a chance to talk, ask questions, share ideas, and meet other parents. Speech coffee talks will provide an informal opportunity to learn more about how cleft palate can affect a child’s speech and language development and discover resources in the community to address your child’s needs. The discussions will focus on what to look for in your child’s therapy programs and how to access additional resources if needed.
Saturday, April 20 9:00 am – 10:30 am
9255 W. Alameda Ave., Unit H, Lakewood, CO 80226
Both speech therapists have years of experience working on local cleft teams. They specialize in helping individuals on their cleft journey – from infancy to adulthood.
Expect a brief presentation and time for discussion and questions.
